Due to my broad experience in various technical and creative domains, it’s been challenging to define what I do. ”Web designer/developer” never seemed to fit because I’m always solving problems that fall outside the scope of just “web design”, leaning more into strategic thinking such as building revenue systems, training team members, & cost-benefit analysis of major changes on a live international website.
The basis of my enterprise tech & management skills were gained while on active duty as a network & server administrator for the US Army, then continuing as a federal civilian. The importance of security, data integrity, and mission continuity in combat & government office environments prepared me for managing websites at the highest standard for entrepreneurs–which I’ve enjoyed doing since 2014.
Over time, I’ve learned the most accurate description is what has happened organically:
31/30 Design serves as a trusted problem solver/technical consultant for individuals, small businesses, & nonprofit organizations in the United States & Europe. We focus on security, efficiency, profitability, & reduction of risk for the owners of business websites.
Focusing on those four things means:
I wrap all of the above into what I call a “plug & play” web strategy approach where any competent developer or web maintenance professional can come in and immediately get a full understanding of your website & eCommerce infrastructure.

We happily support single-page portfolio sites, eCommerce, worldwide membership sites, and nearly everything in between. Primarily WordPress, but we occasionally support Squarespace websites as well. With regard to industries, we’ve only had one case so far where a potential client’s industry presented a moral conflict for us, so we declined.
Per policy, we do not work with clients in the following industries: adult entertainment, forex, gambling, illegal activities; all political, violent, or extremist groups. If you choose to book, and we discover during the consultation that your business falls into one of these categories, the engagement will end, and 50% of the fee will be refunded to you. Consultation no-shows (5 minute grace period) will not receive a refund.
Yes! Our recommendation in that situation is to:
Astra, Hello Elementor, GeneratePress, X Theme, Jupiter Theme & many others. Custom themes are always an option as well.
Yes! We appreciate you sharing your positive experience with the people you trust! As a thank you, for every qualified referral that books with us, you’ll earn 10% on a one-time or recurring basis for as long as they remain clients. Terms & Conditions apply.
In short: expandability & data ownership. Squarespace, Wix, etc. are fine for landing pages or small websites that aren’t too complex, especially if you wish to manage the site on your own. Squarespace has also improved greatly in recent years with regard to eCommerce. The downside of those easy-to-use platforms is that you have no control over your data.
If backups, scalability, and the ability to move your entire website to a new hosting company at will is important to you (we retain 30+ days of backups for example) then WordPress is the safer and more logical option.
Often clients will move to WordPress once they’ve outgrown what Squarespace or Wix can offer, but we routinely train client teams to manage basic aspects of WordPress.
Dedicated Support tasks include but aren’t limited to:
The growing list of skills we’ve developed and tools we employ include:

No, we do not sell domains nor purchase them on behalf of our clients unless it’s a rare emergency (e.g. you’re at risk of losing your domain). Our policy is that clients have full ownership of their domain name as it’s the most important part of your digital real estate. Currently we recommend Squarespace, Namescheap, Cloudflare, and Unstoppable Domains (if you’re ready to plan a few steps ahead for Web3) but there are hundreds if not thousands of companies to choose from. Once secured and access is granted, we can fully manage it to your needs.
